Ellen Liguori, of Art of a Wandering Mind, conceives art pieces that endeavour to invite the viewer to feel entranced by the spirit, mood, nuance, and beauty of a subject.
"My focus is the creation of stirring, and compelling work in Fine Art Painting, Pastel, Charcoal, Ink, and Collage. When I bring to life a Custom Portrait Painting from a photo, for both face and figure work, I specialize in exacting likeness, as well as a sense of the unseen layers beneath the subject's outward appearance. Clothing, telling items, such as an instrument or a book, posture, demeanour and subtleties of expression, are artfully interpreted and wrought. I employ this same passion in my work as an Animal Portrait Artist."

Custom pursuits and Artist-originated works include storytelling Collage, Fine Art Painting and Drawing of Landscape, Abstract Art and Contemporary Linework.
Fine Art Photography Prints reflect a unique and eclectic perspective.
"My wandering mind finds home and purpose amidst these expressions. The destination I strive for is one that culminates in art that blossoms with emotional depth, both enveloping and provoking internal response from its viewer. The
Testimonials page on my site will allow a client to confidently decide on whether my Custom work succeeds in these endeavours and brings fulfillment to its patron...
I hope dearly, in your visit to my site, you see something that stirs you."

With inspiration,

Ellen

I do love the whispering company of the soulful near century old books, luscious fabrics of vintage clothing and curtains, beaded and bejewelled ornaments, coloured glass, wicker baskets, books, books, books, and of course, the soft places to land of a cacophony of pillows and one VERY fuzzy blanket. Photography, old and new, of those I love and those I never knew, and every Gothic arch I can get my hands on. I used to fill my space with plants, but it became understood that those were shortened lives in the hands of my forgetful watering can. One day, my can and I shall try horticulture again, when life is not so busy. Blending found objects with art is my personal version of an enchanting, enveloping nest. Alas, still, I can not resist the discordant push pull of black and white modern graphic pattern, and wall colours, the like of  Violetta and Jester, that meet my plum-my cravings. Dollops of bold and vibrant ruby, chartreuse, cobalt and teal, with a side of mustard and aqua. Throw in an obscenely ridiculous barking ball of, more fur than any human with sense would welcome into their house, and you have, most decidedly, quite emphatically, this artist's studio home. To peek into which, is to voyeur a mind giving over its' reigns to creative impulse. Welcome. Hold on tight...

Wouldn't I love it if the ramblings of my CREATIVESTRUCK brain, somehow inspired another to embrace their own? Madness loves company, they say. Or something ...

With inspiration,

Ellen

An Artist's Home

Vignettes and Musings from Art of a Wandering Mind

An eclectic body of artwork and its' diversity of medium and styles is spot-lit in my Collage pieces, and, reminiscent of the curated design sensibility in my home and studio. Perched objects and weathered furnishings, of worn and loved countenance, honed and patched and rejected, wear the glory faded by their past inanimate-object lives.

"Somewhere, amid the darkness, a painter measures a  blank canvas, a poet tests a line aloud, a songwriter brings a melody into tune. Art inspires, provokes thought, reflects beauty and pain. I seek it out even more in these times. And in doing so, I find hope in the human spirit."
