Refreshed his hair and deepened the values in the face. I'm still finding the hair distracting but I will adjust it by deepening the left side to indicate more shadow and adding in the bright white highlights for the piece, the face in particular. A few select strands of hair on the right are to come. If the business of the curls on the left is still distracting, I may crop a bit to enhance the composition. A change in one element affects the others, and the piece as a whole. I need to walk away for a bit and come back with fresh eyes. Time for a Good Earth and Cobbs Bakery break with the young one, then a cookie bake with the tall one. I sense a theme there
